What do you think of the school district in the UK that stopped teaching about the holocaust?
As far as i know, its only one school district. They stopped teaching students about the holocaust to avoid upsetting muslim students, and to avoid confronting anti-sematic sentiment. What do you think of that? Do you think its fair to just stop teaching people about the horrors of the past just because it might offend someone? (as far as i'm concerned, it should offend people. It isn't the sort of thing anyone should be okay with) wolfgang, you're an idiot. The issue is that this is WRONG, which is why i'm asking the question. And no one should be except from history. Muslims get offended because, traditionally, they hate jews. Do some research before you attack me, idiot.

history is full of ups and downs. I don't think it's about the Holocaust, it's because it's about Jews and no wants to admit that.

not teaching them about the past will ensure that these atrocities will happen again. we spent 1 year on the US and how it coped with the wall street crash and the depression, and spent about 2 lessons on the holocaust, not as a main column either. [im in the UK btw, although there are not muslims, or even non-whites in my history set] but if the muslims are offended, there is nothing anyone can do about it, in a few years the event will be wiped from the sands of time haha

Ok, DUMB QUESTION! How is teaching the Holocaust upsetting MUSLIMS? I am a German American (whatever that means) and the Holocaust classes used to upset me, for different reasons. The only people that should be asking for them to stop teaching about the Holocaust would be the Jews and the Germans, since they were the main players. What % of Muslims were killed in the Holocaust? What numbers of their men and women, and children were exterminated? Being a German, I take those classes to remind myself that even a culturally beautiful society/people have the potential for evil. I am so sick of Muslims being offended by ANYTHING! They need to learn to live and let liveand just shut the hell up. When I face God, I will deal with my sins then, I don't need some A holes here on the Earth trying to tell me what they THINK is the correct path to God. Please, if you are a Muslim, I hope I HAVE offended you, if you truly had any faith, I wouldn't be able to offend you, you would be at peace.

I think it's a sign of incompetence and cowardice of the teachers. I've got to know some fiercly antisemitic Muslims and I must say it is really not easy to discuss with such people. It is even hard to talk to one of them at once and must be much harder to speak to a whole class of such people, and I wouldn't want to be a teacher in that situation, but it is important and has to be done. I think teachers should get some special training how to handle the situations that can arise, because it is not an easy task. Not only regarding the Holocaust, but I have often experienced at school that teachers were not in control of the class. Students can really boycott a teacher if they want, but in such cases something has to be done against it, it is not right just to give in. And not all Muslims are that way and they can also learn better. Many think this way because they are influenced by their hate preachers and Islamic media, and it is very important that they get a better education. I've heard from a Jewish Holocaust survivor who regularly goes to schools in Germany to talk to the students that he once talked to a class consisting only of Muslims, with girls wearing headscarfs, and that they seriously listened to him and asked him and that he generally got a very good response from them and he was very happy and surprised about their reaction.

why do students in the UK call high school college?
on a side note why is it that instead of putting a period after a number like 1. people from the UK use a comma just wondering. Thanks =)

A Pro-Wrestling school? Or Amateur style? Because there is a local promotion in Torquay, Devon which offers training for about £10 a week etc

Funnily enough I'm from Plymouth as well. The same Plymouth in the United Kingdom yes. Believe me there isn't one. I've checked and the nearest one to us is the XWA Wrestling School in Portsmouth. I've been a wrestling fan for over 12 years so believe me I know what I'm talking about.

Doesnt, Cutting Edge Pro Wrestling have a school down there somewhere? I'm convinced they do...

Join the boys and make them join you. Japan tried all male and all female wrestling and it flopped ultimately due to its sexist nature. GLIMMER and organizations like GLOW ultimately flopped in the USA because of their sexist natures. Wrestling should either be inter-gender or gender neutral or it should not exist at all. With that being said, there is that search feature on Yahoo and other search engines that you can use in order to find wrestling schools.

can I go to school In UK ....I am a US citizen..........please help!!!?
I have my girlfriend In UK (she has a sweeden citizen and also she has 2 kids living with her ),, we have been knowing each other for like a year now ....and I went to see her once and she came here in US to see me as well,,,now we desided that I am gonna be moving to UK and I want to do my nursing degree in UK so whats is the ways to do this?? ,,,may be marrying her will make the process easier??or any thing u guys know...and if I start living there is there any waiting period to start school ...??(in US if you move from state to state u should wait to that state u moved in like a year to be going to schoo) and also will we be qualified for grant or loans if both of us go to school.???.....thanks !!!!

You will have no problem getting a student visa to stay in the UK if you have been accepted to a school in the UK. As for scholarships and loans, you may be at a bit of a disadvantage, but the best way to find out would be to call the Financial Aid departments at the schools you are interested in. At any rate, it's very doable.
