Are high school plays in the UK performed in American accents

Are high school plays in the UK performed in American accents?
To clarify: I am referring to the tendency of young, amateur, American actors to almost sound as if they are trying to impersonate a British accent, in their attempt to add theatrical expression to their voices.

If they are, I am sure they are just as bad as when Americans try to do British accents.

Maybe if it's an American play.. I don't really know what you mean.=S
3 :
I have no clue, but it wouldn't matter either way because lots of people don't use accents in Romeo and Juliet.

Productions are usually done in an accent relevant to the piece in question. If the play was set in Northern England or London for example then the appropriate regional accent would usually be attempted, if it were set in Ireland then an appropriate Irish accent (dependant again on the region) and if it was set in America then the relevant accent would be used for that. There would be no point doing e.g. Blood Brothers with an American accent when it's set in Liverpool, just as Chicago would be a little odd performed in a Geordie accent (Newcastle). A Glaswegian version of A Streetcar named Desire however could be quite entertaining... Having said all that I find the fact that people get hung-up on the accents often gets in the way of the performance, and I would far rather see a performance in actor's "natural voice" that was true to the spirit of the character and thus gave some illumination to the play than a wooden performance that had the right accent.

Personally, I think that Oxford is the best Medical School; but you also have great med schools such as Cambridge University, Edinburgh, University College London, UCL, and of course Dundee.
