Could I be a primary school teacher in the uk?
With a history of anorexia/bulimia,self-harm,anxiety and depression and bad reaction to medications on my medical record? If these things were resolved, after a degree, could I get onto a pgce?

I don't see why not but the UK is a bit different than the US. Seems to me that if these things are resolved, you'd be good for kids who are feeling the same way.

school cantine (uk)
school cantine (uk)......?
i want to try and get local produce into the school cantine instead of the crap that gets sold from the companies like pasta king. it would be good to get my school to pull out of buying from them and to buy local produce (in bulk obviously) and free range chicken ect but im wondering about the cost, at the moment a single slice of greasy oily pizza costs about £1.20 and a roll with horrible cardboard-like cheese is like £1.45 and a small muffin or fairycake is 55p. the school is still selling junk food and the salads they sell are all wilted and made of couscous when it would be nicer to have a fresh salad made or cucumber, tomatoes and pepper ect. i would like to know approx how much more less it would cost and who to go to to try and achieve this. it has already been brought up in school council but i very much doubt they will do anythign about it. i would go the headteacher about it but theyre leaving soon so im not sure. x

Well, you need to talk to someone to find out what the current costs are, and then local producers to find out what the new costs would be. I would suggest doing this on a smaller scale to start out, perhaps a home ec class or something would be willing to make a healthy or lunch such as a salad or something once a week to sell, they as a class could take care of costs and such. A local school here is doing this but the food is free I think if you bring your own reusable container and a small charge to provide a container. Perhaps an economics or business class in your school could look at the pricing and logistics as a class project? See if there is something popular in the canteen such as fries (chips) or pizza and see if there is an affordable local option or producer just for that item. If it is popular and works well the school may be more receptive to making other changes as well.

If they don't have summer school in the UK, how do they
If they don't have summer school in the UK, how do they....?
I've heard that they don't have summer school in the UK, if this is true what happens to people? Do they just automatically go through to the next grade, or is there some kind of makeup course that they have to take? What about SATS?

huh? we go on to the next year....we don't take end of year tests or whatever u do in America apart from in year 9 and 11 but you can go to the next year no matter what mark you get...and they may be getting rid of the year 9 tests.....so its only year 11 where you take your GCSE's.... edit: We do SATs in year 6 and year 9 (but they're really pointless and I think the government is getting rid of the year 9 ones) GCSE's and A-levels are kinda the British version of the American SAT's :)

in the UK there is no such thing as failing a grade and we just go to the next year no matter what. the only time a student in the UK would be held back is if he/she missed alot of days in that year, but even this is rare. there is no makeup courses here either, if you missed school for a few days here, that is tough luck of the student, they will just have to ask a friend of theirs what they missed.

Yes. Just remember its epinephrine, not adrenaline. Also, it's acetaminophen, not paracetamol.
2 :
Yes, you can go to a med school out of the country and still practice in the US. As long as you are a registered MD. However, you will need to gain your certificate in whatever area you plan to work as a psychiatrist, that way you can be a registerd psychiatrist.
