I'm an IB student from Oregon and I am interested in attending the University of East Anglia in Norfolk for a degree in medical history. What is the average tuition fee for an American going to the UK for school and is this a realistic goal?

Attending a university in the UK as an American student will cost you about as much as attending an expensive US private college in an expensive city (think Boston, NYC, LA) in the states....but unlike private universities/colleges in the US, UK universities do not offer any financial aid. This will mean you and your family will need to pay one average $35,000 a year for you to attend university in the UK. You also need to take into account exchange rates. The dollar is weaker than the pound but it can fluctuate, meaning one month groceries can cost X amount and the next month they can cost several dollars more. Same goes for rent, plane tickets, clothes, etc. Unless your family is very affluent and has more money then they know what to do with, I would look at universities in the US and consider graduate school in the UK, which would only be for a year (for a master's).
