Does My Secondary School Make A Difference To My Future

Does My Secondary School Make A Difference To My Future?
I know with GCSEs and everything it is important, I'm more on about my choise of Secondary School (UK). I'm in year 9 so I've been at my school for 3 years now. And i'm a little worried that It could hold me back in my future, I think this because the school doesn't exactly have the best pupils and results you could want. Plus, My Mam thought I could do better if I went to a better school which she had applied me for, But I told her It wasn't for me and I didn't want to go. So she only opted for me to go to the school I go to now. But now it worries me as I may not do as well as I hope in my GCSEs and A-Levels. Do you think going to this not so good school have stunted my future a little? My teachers think that I could get A*s at GCSE, I've been told this in History and Spanish, However I'm not taking History for GCSE Next year. I'll explain why in extra information if anybody wants. Thanks in advance for any replied :) In in the UK, And I think that our 'Years' are one behind your 'Grades' So I think year 9 is Grade 10? And What other information would you need?

Your future affects you if your in grade 9 or up (doing community service is a must do). I would really say that the hard work should all start in grade 10 for the future. Just work hard and get A's to go to a good high school, I mean it's worth the shot. I know what your going through for most of the part. If you could give me more information, that would be great hope I helped =)

Is it like... A chocolate bar and some chips? Because that's what I've heard basically. Anyway I need this information for a school assignment, so if someone could just tell me what's most common to have for lunch?

It is mainly junk food. When I was in secondary school the kids ate burgers, chips, hot dogs, cakes, crisps, chocolate, coke etc. But when I was in primary school the kids got a basic meat and two veg meal with a pudding and custard. I don't think they make them like that anymore.

No we are much healthier than that! Jesus this isn't America! Since Jamie Oliver (maybe research him) started campaigning against unhealthy food, most schools went healthy. The average food children eat is sandwiches and crisps or pasta.

How does the US school grade system work

How does the US school grade system work?
In the UK the school system goes like this: PRIMARY SCHOOL: Nursery- Age 3/4 Reception- Age 4/5 Year 1- Age 5/6 Year 2- Age 6/7 Year 3- Age 7/8 Year 4- Age 8/9 Year 5- Age 9/10 Year 6- Age 10/11 SECONDARY SCHOOL... KNOWN AS HIGH SCHOOL: Year 7- Age 11/12 Year 8- Age 12/13 Year 9- Age 13/14 Year 10- Age 14/15 Year 11- Age 15/16 Year 12- Age 16/17 Year 13- Age 17/18 Years 1-11 are compulsary. Nursery and Reception are the parents choice but practically all children attend, and Years 12 & 13, known as 6th Form, are the students choice. At the end of year 2, 6 and 9 children take exams called SATs to check progress. At the end of year 11 children take GCSE's, a formal qualification. If children choose to stay on to 6th form they take A Level's at the end of year 13, another formal qualification. Can someone please explain to me the equivalent for US students?

PRESCHOOL Pre-school can begin as early as age 2. "Moms and Tots" - age 2 / 3 Preschool - 3/4 Preschool -4/5 *If children have a birthday in the summer months, they are often encouraged to go to a "T-Class" (Transition Class) before they begin Kindergarten. If a child attends the T-Class, his or her age would be a year older than the ages I have on my list below.l ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (Primary School) Kindergarten (or T-Class) 5/6 1st grade- 6/7 2nd grade - 7/8 3rd grade - 8/9 4th grade - 9/10 5th grade - 10/11 MIDDLE SCHOOL 6th grade - 11/12 7th grade - 12/13 8th grade - 13/14 HIGH SCHOOL (Secondary School) 9th grade - 14/15 10th grade 15/16 11th grade 16/17 12th grade 17/18 This is the way the grades are set up in many schools. However, this varies. I teach in a district like the one I described. My own children attend a district which is set up differently. They have elementary school from kindergarten through 4th grade. Then they go to a middle school from grades 5 to 6. Then they attend a different middle school for 7th and 8th grades. Finally, they attend high school for grades 9 through 12. Preschool is not mandatory, but many children attend preschool for at least one year. Most children attend preschool for more than one year. Our children take too many tests in my opinion. They use the tests to check the student's progress, but also to check the progress of the schools. There are different statewide tests. For example, in Pennyslvania, the children take the "PSSA" in grades 3, 4, 5, 8, and 11. They have been adding more grades each year. (They may even be testing more grades than that already.) Once children graduate from high school, many go on to college.
