Post-secondary school in the UK for an American.

Post-secondary school in the UK for an American.?
I live in Arizona but am completely fascinated by British culture. I have many British friends and I find them much more agreeable than Americans. I love rain. Would it be a mistake to go to school in the UK? I hear it's cheaper and there are many scholarships available to Americans. Is this a good idea? Why or why not? If I wanted to study magazine journalism, where should I go? * University. Not college.

I am American but one thing I have heard is that they're "college" is really like the latter years of high school. Then they have something called "university" that is closer to college, but I think it starts when you're 19. I'm not sure how that would affect you. Oh and one more thing: You should ask this earlier in the day. Keep in mind it's now after 11 in England.
2 :
I am English but live in Texas now. Depending on how prestigious of a school you want to go can decide where you should go. Unless you are extremely smart, you won't get into Cambridge or Oxford, and so you will be at a university that isn't that well known. You have a better chance of getting into an elite college in the United States. College in England is like the last 2 years of highschool. Then you go on to University which is the same as college here. You start at the same time. So if you're 18 when you're going to go to college here, you'll be 18 there too. College in England ends the same year as highschool here. Hope this helps. Not quite sure about the journalism thing. I'm not sure about the scholarships either, but I do know that it is a lot cheaper. However with the recent decline in the value of the dollar, you will have a crap exchange to pounds...almost half the amount.

What is the 13th year of secondary school (often in the UK) called?
How old are the students in the 13th year, usually? (aka 17-18, or 18-19)

6th Form

Either year 13 or upper sixth if they go to a sixth form attached to their old school. If you just go to a normal sixth form college its just the second year of college. Its not compulsory though after year 11. Students are 17/18 in this year.

i think if you go to a private school they more or less can chuck you out if you dont comply to their standards, i have a friend who isnt allowed to wear make up/dye their hair/paint their nails etc. but if it's a state school im not sure they can even make them wear your uniform, you'll get into a lot of crap but still, technically they cant force you
2 :
They have done it before, my friend told me they knew someone that died thier hair red and that wasnt allowed. umm..... cant help but mention. That "small gelled fringe at the front" thing. Its a little .........dated. You should go for a more gelled allover look, if you have the type of fringe i think you have. It was popular in the early 2000's. Try growing your hair out a bit more!! Sorry i, didnt want to sound rude, just trying to help!! :D

Head lice and infestations in UK Schools

Head lice and infestations in UK Schools?
Head lice "nits" are endemic in schools does the school have to keep record of occurrence's of head lice and do they have to pay particular attention if a child is continually infested. I feel my child is being singled out as every time i get clear of them they return. I change everything lining etc.
Other - General Health Care - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
I have boys and not to say that boys don't bring home lice, they do. I had never dealt with lice until my seven year old neice moved in with us. It was a pain in the ass. We finally go rid of it by washing everthing, buying those flea/tick bombs and setting them off when we were not home and I found the best head treatment at lice killer.com. The kit u get from there come with a lice prevention spray and after we got rid of it, and using that spray on her head daily, we never got it back.
2 :
Unfortunately Head lice are a nuisance. But your question is somewhat ambigous. How do you feel your child is being singled out? Is it because the lice keep returning? You see, there will be one, or two mothers who aren't as caring or concerned as you. They are the ones that ignore the problem of head lice, and changing bed sheets, clothes, everything, and will probably do the "lets cut their hair" method * which doesn't work*. And the chances are your child, is unfortunately left being constantly riddled with the mites, and although head lice are just as much attracted to clean hair as they are to dirty, the stigma of the 'unkept child' still exists. You should maybe speak to the school, as they can only do so much, like hand out leaflets to all the children and get them to bring them home. But you could try head lice repellant, and spray your child in the morning and evening. It doesn't kill them, but you may not have to dose your child so often. With regards to your school question, they will take a note if there is one child is constantly infected, as this would usually be an indication that the care is not at home, but thats all they can do. Just keep doing what your doing, and pat on the back for you caring Mum! And if your that concerned, maybe go and speak to the head/principal.
3 :
I live in the US our school system handles these situations very carefully. If a child is discovered to have head lice they are automatically taken out of class and sent home. They are not allowed to return to school until the problem has been treated. When they do return to school the parent has to walk them in to see the school nurse where they are checked again for lice and nits. If any are found, they are sent back home. With extreme reoccurring problems the department of children services is called. Treat the child with a different lice shampoo than you have been using. The lice may have become imune to the shampoo you are using. Make sure to get the spray and spray the matresses and carpets. Take all stuffed animals, pillows, coats, anything cloth that is bulky and either tie it in a plastic bag and let it sit for 48 hours or you can throw them in the dryer o high heat for 30 min. Treat your hair and bedding too. Boil all hair brushes hair ties and combs. Spray the couch with lice killing spray I found that RID works better than Nix. Make sure to use the nit comb while the childs hair is still wet. I have actually let the shampoo sit on the child for the alotted time and the combed the hair with the nit comb before rinsing. If this is a small child I would not recomend this because of the toxisity of the shampoo. Another thing you can do to prevent catching them is switch to a shampoo that contains tea tree oil. It is more exspensive but lice don't like it and it is very good for your hair. Talk to your child about staying away from children that scratch their heads a lot. Tell him or her not to share jackets hairbrushes hair ties etc.. It also helps to keep the chils hair tied up and braided it gives the lice nothing to grab onto and climb up to the scalp. I hope this helps
4 :
Sorry but I can not help you with the 'singling out in school problem', my expertise lies in getting rid of head lice, for good. The ONLY safe way to get rid of head lice permanently is to use a totally natural alternative to the chemical shampoos then use prevention methods such as hairspray and tea tree mixed with water in a spray bottle every day to ensure they never return. Before you listen to anyone advising you to use a pesticide treatment please consider the following: No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. They are also ineffective as head lice have become immune to them. Luckily there are quite a few totally natural remedies available that readily kill head lice. Suffocation is an effective method where oil based products (i.e.: conditioner) are used to block the breathing holes and kill the live lice. The real trick though is to find natural products that will kill both the live lice and their eggs in one fast effective treatment. Remedies containing Neem Oil are known to be highly effective as Neem interrupts the growth and reproduction of the head louse. Neem’s insecticidal properties are widely recognized now and the oil is commonly available at your local health food store. Feel free to check out the articles at the following site for more advice. Good luck.

5 :
Yes you can. Here's a website with a lot of informtion for the UK http://home-ed.info/
6 :
Yes you can. If your children have never been to school you don't have to tell anyone. If they're at school and you're in England or Wales you just have to tell their school in writing to de-register them (make sure they sign for the letter). You only need to ask you local authority if you are in Scotland or you child is at a Special school (ie. one for SEN). How you do it is entirely personal. How YOU do it will almost certainly be different from how I do it, or the lady across the road does it :-) You do NOT need to follow the National Curriculum, have home visits from your LA (many of them will LIE to you about that), do tests, exams, or be monitored in any way. You don't even need to sit them down and teach at them. I recommend borrowing "Educating Children at Home" by Alan Thomas from your local library for an overview of the ways it's done. 'Socialization' is referred to at 'the S Word' because so many ignorant people will trot it out at the first suggestion of home education. It's utter tosh! Anyone who thinks you learn appropriate social skills in a school is sadly deluded. Socialising, ie. playing with friends is something you might have to make an effort to have happen regularly and getting in contact with local HE families is a great way to do that. Of course there are also Scouts, Guides and other 'after school' clubs, sports and activities.
7 :
Yes. There are even yahoo groups based on local home educated groups and they may be a really good place to start. the authorities will need to know that is your intention, and they will need to know that you are going to make arrangements for children to receive the education they need - parents or grandparents may be very clever and know all the subjects, or perhaps there are some gaps. Often there are local groups meeting monthly or weekly so the social side is addresses. i have worked with lots of home school groups. there are lots of on line resources that help both to find out what needs to be done and also to support learning. Sometimes the schools are actually very helpful (for example when they know for some reason they cannot meet the needs of a child). I advise finding a local group or a group who can advise (eg I think Hughenden Home Schoolers or similar is one on line group in Buckinghamshire UK) and then contact the local education department when you are armed with a little information.

How do I convince parents to allow me to go to boarding school in the UK

How do I convince parents to allow me to go to boarding school in the UK?
I live in New Jersey. I'm not thrilled with High School. In fact I immensely dislike it. My family is not rich, but is not poor, so money is an issue, but not a major issue. I'm a dual-US/UK citizen. My grandparents and uncles/aunts live in the London area. What is the best way I can convince them to send me to an independent boarding school 3000 miles away?

I hear you. I hate high school. I dropped out at age 17 and due to mental problems (depression, attempts to kill myself other issues) my parents got permission for me to take an early GED test. I was just one year shy of the cut off date) So I am glad to hear you don't want to drop out. I'd say draw up a list of reasons to go and not go. If your school has a lot of crime mention that. My parents had no idea of the crime in my school till I told them years later. (I dropped out in 1992 things then were as bad as they are now). Talk to maybe a school counselor if you have one you can trust. Maybe he/she can get on your side. Talk to your aunt, uncle, grandparents maybe they'll help too. Expect your parents to be unhappy. They will no want you to go and it is faraway plus a whole other country. Come up with alternatives too. I homeschool my kids. Here in GA you just need a GED to do that I love learning along with my kids even though my oldest is only doing 5th-6th grade work. So mention homeschooling, going to an online school, a USA boarding school and others. This why you'll give them some other options. But mention you'd love to go to a UK boarding school. Make a list of why and what it would take to get your there. Also make sure you talk to them when they are not busy. When mom is making dinner is not the time to bring up a life changing conversation. lol Ask her to listen to you without interrupting and then you do the same for her. Good luck. High school was awful for me so was jr high. lol So I understand.

Can an American get a job in the UK right out of school

Can an American get a job in the UK right out of school?
Hi, I am a Penn State student, an Advertising Major, a freshman, and really want to move and work in England when I graduate. My goal is to work within a record label or music related career in the UK. My question is as a recent graduate with a BA, would it be possible to apply for a job and move over there right after school? What do I need to do to be able to work over there? ANY help or insights are GREATLY appreciated, Thank you so much!

2 :
In short, no - you would almost certainly be unable to get a working visa for the UK. In addition, UK graduates are having a hard enough time finding employment, let alone graduates who come with the added cost and bureaucracy of employing a non-EU worker. If you were to do a post-graduate degree in the UK, you could get an international post-graduate visa, which would allow you to work for 2 years in the UK, then you might find it easier to get an ordinary working visa in Tier 1 or Tier 2. The alternatives, broadly, are to seek employment with an international firm in the US, and then transfer to the UK, or get a sufficiently well paying job in the US that you could qualify for a Tier 1 visa.

The MBA at London Business School consistently gets some of the highest rankings in the world (Financial Times & The Economist listings). According to the FT rankings, these are the top ten business schools for MBAs: 1. London Business School 2. Oxford Said Business School 3. Cambridge Judge Business School 4. Lancaster University Management School 5. Cranfield University School of Management 6. Imperial College London Business School 7. Manchester Business School 8. Cass Business School - City University London 9. Warwick Business School 10. University of Strathclyde Business School The Economist's rankings are here: http://www.economist.com/business-finance/business-education/whichmba/ Just a word of warning though; most rankings systems require the business school to pay a significant amount of money in order to be included in the rankings, so these listings may not reflect the true quality of an institution. Having said that, perception of quality is the key to gaining employment - if your school is listed, employers will be impressed.

I disagree with corporal punishment like the cane, as i think there are other ways for discipline without having to be physically hurt. Having said that, i agree that some discipline needs to happen, its that the politicians are not creative enough to think of what. I would have the (male) offender for example dress up in a lady's dress, with make up all day at school. Humiliate them in some way. Its much better! Having said that i think in the UK, we are bound by EU Laws, which is why yuo dont see many of these ideas take shape.

Panic time very soon... Choices?! (UK school)

Panic time very soon... Choices?! (UK school)?
AAAAAAAAHHHHH! >.< we have to do our choices in march! I have to pick four, because I'm not doing a language because I scored 100% A grade from my Polish, Russian and Japanese Language GCSE so they're swaping language (French or German, which I'm crap at both) for another subject ¬.¬ So I want to be a tattoo artist... I'm definitly picking Art and??? HELL KNOWS! help! I don't know what am I supposed to pick, Then I'm definitly picking PSE, so that I have idea of different stuff (I gotta be social for that kind of job, I've seen many people who get tattoos asking artists to talk to them because they're scared) RS, Maths, English+ Science are not on the list unless you want to request a double which I don't because my grades are way above avarage (that's what teachers say) but if that's what you need than I will take them no problem. So which ones do I pick? >.< History D.T. (which one? cooking XD? graphic design, textiles?) ICT Geography ...Music? XD Help?!
Adolescent - 4 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
what, exactly, is your question??
2 :
If you've got the ones you need for your career covered, how about something you enjoy, or could be useful whilst your low on cash training to be a tattoo artist? (I hear that takes a long time!) I loved history, but I know a lot of people don't. DT could be very useful to you if you do graphic design or even textiles (although you might cover that in art?) as it's a creative and artistic subject that would give you a chance to improve your sketching skills. Cooking is so fun, and well useful for when you move out! ICT is always useful, loads of jobs use computers and I'm sure it would help with business stuff (if you ever wanted to run your own tattoo place?) I always hated Geo, and to be honest unless you really enjoy it it's pretty stressful! Same with music, if you aren't good at it it can be frustrating. Go with something you enjoy, life (and school) is too short to spend your time doing something that's stressful or so boring you dislike it. Have a look at the units/work/topics you cover. Is it something you want to do? Have you done well in that subject before? Do you like the teacher (bad or mean teachers can RUIN a subject for you...)? Good luck picking! If you get really stuck have a chat with your parents and a guidance teacher, they know what you're good at and the guidance staff especially will know what looks good on uni applications (if you want to go) or for going into a creative industry.
3 :
Well, I took Business Studies, Photography and Sports Studies... thats irrelevant. So you have 2 already, art and PSHCE. Now The history course is VERY hard... Geography I did the course in yr 9, It is mainly common sense and memory and colourin in and bits of maths. ICT is pointless really, because most of uk can use a computer Music is fun. I would take textiles, because that is graphics too, and it leaves your options at post-16 broader. :)
4 :
I know that you said these are off limits but I would pick biology and either English or History. Biology because you will obviously want a good idea of the workings of the human body to give you an edge as a tattoo artist. If you change your mind about the job then English or History will both give you a good academic grounding, plus it's advisable to keep at least one essay subject. Don't close off all of your options with too many art subjects (although it might be tempting) because you may well change your mind and then you're stuck. I do want to point out, though, that A levels are significantly harder than GCSE. An A* in GCSE is roughly a C at AS Level, then a D at the actual A Levels. When I went into my first chemistry AS class (bear in mind that I scored 98% in my GCSE exam for chemistry), he told us that basically everything we learnt at GCSE for that subject was either virtually inaccurate or misleadingly oversimplified. I ended up getting an E in that subject because I just couldn't understand it once they started teaching us the actual science.

If it's one of the top MBA programs in the UK, then yes, it's fine. It will be recognised here. If possible, try to get into one of the very top ranked schools, so it has a least some name recognition in the States. And - you could consider working in the UK after you graduate, if you wanted to. The UK has a scheme where graduates of certain of its MBA programs (and of certain MBA programs around the world) are eligible to work in the UK for 2 years after they graduate, without much fuss re: obtaining the work visa. It's certainly worth considering, and you'd get some international experience on your resume. And who knows where that could lead you?

The best wrestling school in the United States is probably the Ring of Honor Wrestling Academy, url: http://www.rohwrestling.com/wrestlingschool/. I'm not certain what is thebest wrestling school in the United Kingdom. There are a number of wrestling promotions all across the United Kingdom, you probably should contact one of them.

Studying engineering (and don't know which school in UK to apply to)

Studying engineering (and don't know which school in UK to apply to)?
Can anyone recommend a school for me, I am looking to study abroad at a school in the UK, most likely in Scotland, vs. London or anywhere in England. Others have suggested The University of Aberdeen and the University of Bath, but without thinking; these can't possibly be easy schools to get into, can they? So can anyone recommend some schools that are less competitive and will be more likely to accept a student with a fair amount of average, grades some of my grades are very good just not all of them. CURIOUS: What other schools are there that are: In Scotland and accept students with medium (not perfect ) grades and offer engineering?

Does anyone know what requirements school librarians need in the UK?
I want to go back to school(after I've gotten my BA in teaching) for my master's in Librarian Sciences. I am going to school in Texas, but would like to know what the requirements are for librarians in the UK. Also does anyone know how much primary school librarians make in the UK? Thank you!

could anyone provide me with detailed description of high school education in the UK please?
Such as the requirements of high school diploma, programs offered; are there AP programs there, or only IB and A level? Thank you AP program is advanced placement program, a series of vigorous courses. It is very popular in the U.S. and can be considered as equivalence of the IB program.

High school in the UK is called college. We have qualifications called : NVQ - National vocational diploma (work based learning, with a recognised qualification at the end of it) A Level - a 2 year long course that is marked as total 70% for your coursework and 30% for a final exam. (coursework being papers and essays written over the course) A/S level - half of a A level essentially, if you only do a year and pass up to certain standard (A-E, F being fail) BTEC - qualifications are undertaken in vocational subjects ranging from Business to Animal Care. They have an equivalence to other qualifications such as the A Level but a particular difference is that they tend to be based on practical work or coursework rather than timed examinations. any qualifications past that are from university. I would be happy advise you on such qualifications
2 :
Colleges exist for post-16 study (mainly skill-related), but the majority of UK students choose to stay on at school after 16 to do their A-levels. Some secondary schools (11-18, usually) also offer NVQ courses. A-levels are required for entrance to UK universities. They are offered in a wide range of subjects. Most students take 3 or 4 A-levels, after 2 years of study (from 16 - 18). At 16 students take GCSE exams, in any number of subjects (9 or 10 is most usual for capable students). Their GCSE results determine whether they can take A-levels in a particular subject or, in the case of a student who fails or gains very poor grades in GCSEs, whether they can do A-levels at all. A very, very, very few schools (mainly private) offer the International Baccaleureate. It is not a commonly-taken qualification in the UK. I don't know what you mean by AP.

Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Chemical, Structural or Electronic engieering? believe me which one you eventually choose affects your options radically. Hmm Scotland has few easy to get into universities, Edinburgh has the best engineering school in Scotland with Glasgow hot on their heels, if you aren't that confident Aberdeen may be a good choice. International students may have an easier time in the UK, Southampton and Bath are good. Remember none of these require perfect grades, Edinburgh want AAB. Hull, Stirling Dundee and strathclyde do go lower. Engineering, tends to require at least BBB

Completely illegal. You should complain and bring the situation to your local council. This is totally illegal what he is doing. All schools must have the same time in school. Unless you get more holidays?

I need some help with a BIG school decision.anyone from UK, or USA

I need some help with a BIG school decision.anyone from UK, or USA?
OK, so just to stART off here's some backround info on the school sytems. UK: You go to primary and secondary school. Then when you're done with secondary you go to get your A levels, at the age of 16-18.(2 years) USA:You go to ghischool, graduate hgihschool at 18, then go to college. I really WANT TO GO TO A COLLEGE IN the UK. Like i'm sure of it. I'm in 9th grade, and here's the catch. I'm deciding between graduating highscool and trying to get in to a uni in the UK(it's hard to get in if overseas and about 3 times as much money) Or, after 10th grade going to get my A levels in the UK, so i can get in to a uni in the UK easier, and A TON less money. Which one do you think i should do? ,

2 :
I think it would be best for you to get you A levels in the UK &then get into a Uni from there, because its A LOT cheaper &you'll probably save a lot more time when it comes to preperation.
3 :
There's a lot to consider here. I'm glad you are sure of going to the UK for school. There is quite a bit that is great about the UK, and their school system is pretty darn good. Here's the thing. What happens if you don't do well on the A levels? This is my thinking--there is a reason that school goes to age 18 in the US. I'm not sure you'll have all the skills you need to do as well as you like on the A levels, and that's a pretty big risk then...airfare, place to stay...and what would you do if you needed to come back to the US to finish school? What if not having those grades 11 and 12 skills causes you to do worse at a British university? I know it would be less money, but I think you need to be a British subject in order to have schooling paid for in the UK. Therefore, I suggest you stay in the US and then go. I'm sure this isn't what you wanted to hear, but I hope it helps.

4/5 they start primary school. Nursery school prior to that is optional.
2 :
They must start by the term following their fifth birthday. They can start in the September of the school year in which they will become five. This means that some kids will start school as early as age four and a day (if their birthday is August 31st, school starts September 1st, and their parents opt to send them as soon as possible). And others might start as late as about 5 and 4 months (if their 5th birthday falls right at the start of the summer term at the end of April, and their parents opt to send them as late as possible).

I go to Eton (don't look like that, we're not all as stuck up as everybody thinks!) and I love it. It is an excellent school and loads of fun, there is always something to do at weekends and in the holidays; you never get bored. I don't particularly like life at home so I love to be able to board, but loads of my friends love their home life and still love school. I don't think that I know anyone at my school who really hates it (some people moan about it but I think its like that at every school). I certainly would recommend it- going to boarding school has been one of the best things of my life.

Going to Graduate School in UK

Going to Graduate School in UK?
ok so I've been looking at going to graduate school abroad, but I'm kind of confused as to the degrees offered in the UK. here is the website I've been looking at. http://www.ucl.ac.uk/neuropsych/Applied-route I am in college in the US and I will graduate with a B.S. in Psychology. what is a first class degree? what does 2:1 mean? what is a conversion degree? would I have to take more courses there to convert my degree to something acceptable in the UK?
Studying Abroad - 1 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Basically they will only take the very top candidates. A first class degree is the highest level which exists in the UK. Your equivalent would be coming in say the top 10% of your class at university. A 2:1 is the next grade down. A conversion degree would be a course in psychology that you'd do if your initial degree wasn't in psychology. I think the "acceptable" bit for you will come from here: "For Graduate Membership the Society will consider the following: 1. Whether you hold a degree from a recognised university or comparable institution; and 2. Whether your degree is of equivalent standard to a British Bachelors degree; and 3. Whether your degree is at least fifty percent Psychology. This means that Psychology courses must comprise at least half of the studies which contributed to the award of your degree;" (this is from http://www.bps.org.uk/membership/grades/grades_home.cfm . If you follow the links from the UCL website, you'll discover you _have_ to be a member of the BPS to do this course). So, you say your degree will be in psychology...but will 50% of the courses you have taken for it be psychology courses?

It would be a lot better to get your A-levels in the UK since as you say, it's a lot less money for the unis and you will already have had time to adjust to England and suchlike... also the application will probably be easier. If you stay in the USA for longer it will just be harder to leave when you have to. :) x

What do you think of the school district in the UK that stopped teaching about the holocaust

What do you think of the school district in the UK that stopped teaching about the holocaust?
As far as i know, its only one school district. They stopped teaching students about the holocaust to avoid upsetting muslim students, and to avoid confronting anti-sematic sentiment. What do you think of that? Do you think its fair to just stop teaching people about the horrors of the past just because it might offend someone? (as far as i'm concerned, it should offend people. It isn't the sort of thing anyone should be okay with) wolfgang, you're an idiot. The issue is that this is WRONG, which is why i'm asking the question. And no one should be except from history. Muslims get offended because, traditionally, they hate jews. Do some research before you attack me, idiot.

not teaching them about the past will ensure that these atrocities will happen again. we spent 1 year on the US and how it coped with the wall street crash and the depression, and spent about 2 lessons on the holocaust, not as a main column either. [im in the UK btw, although there are not muslims, or even non-whites in my history set] but if the muslims are offended, there is nothing anyone can do about it, in a few years the event will be wiped from the sands of time haha

No. It is because many muslim students hate Jews and they don't want to have to suggest they are human beings. The rest of society, muslims included, should tells these jerks to F*ck off and live in their own fantasy worlds on thier own time, not someone elses.
4 :
Ok, DUMB QUESTION! How is teaching the Holocaust upsetting MUSLIMS? I am a German American (whatever that means) and the Holocaust classes used to upset me, for different reasons. The only people that should be asking for them to stop teaching about the Holocaust would be the Jews and the Germans, since they were the main players. What % of Muslims were killed in the Holocaust? What numbers of their men and women, and children were exterminated? Being a German, I take those classes to remind myself that even a culturally beautiful society/people have the potential for evil. I am so sick of Muslims being offended by ANYTHING! They need to learn to live and let liveand just shut the hell up. When I face God, I will deal with my sins then, I don't need some A holes here on the Earth trying to tell me what they THINK is the correct path to God. Please, if you are a Muslim, I hope I HAVE offended you, if you truly had any faith, I wouldn't be able to offend you, you would be at peace.
5 :
I think it's a sign of incompetence and cowardice of the teachers. I've got to know some fiercly antisemitic Muslims and I must say it is really not easy to discuss with such people. It is even hard to talk to one of them at once and must be much harder to speak to a whole class of such people, and I wouldn't want to be a teacher in that situation, but it is important and has to be done. I think teachers should get some special training how to handle the situations that can arise, because it is not an easy task. Not only regarding the Holocaust, but I have often experienced at school that teachers were not in control of the class. Students can really boycott a teacher if they want, but in such cases something has to be done against it, it is not right just to give in. And not all Muslims are that way and they can also learn better. Many think this way because they are influenced by their hate preachers and Islamic media, and it is very important that they get a better education. I've heard from a Jewish Holocaust survivor who regularly goes to schools in Germany to talk to the students that he once talked to a class consisting only of Muslims, with girls wearing headscarfs, and that they seriously listened to him and asked him and that he generally got a very good response from them and he was very happy and surprised about their reaction.

A Pro-Wrestling school? Or Amateur style? Because there is a local promotion in Torquay, Devon which offers training for about £10 a week etc

Funnily enough I'm from Plymouth as well. The same Plymouth in the United Kingdom yes. Believe me there isn't one. I've checked and the nearest one to us is the XWA Wrestling School in Portsmouth. I've been a wrestling fan for over 12 years so believe me I know what I'm talking about.
3 :
Doesnt, Cutting Edge Pro Wrestling have a school down there somewhere? I'm convinced they do...
4 :
Join the boys and make them join you. Japan tried all male and all female wrestling and it flopped ultimately due to its sexist nature. GLIMMER and organizations like GLOW ultimately flopped in the USA because of their sexist natures. Wrestling should either be inter-gender or gender neutral or it should not exist at all. With that being said, there is that search feature on Yahoo and other search engines that you can use in order to find wrestling schools.

You will have no problem getting a student visa to stay in the UK if you have been accepted to a school in the UK. As for scholarships and loans, you may be at a bit of a disadvantage, but the best way to find out would be to call the Financial Aid departments at the schools you are interested in. At any rate, it's very doable.
2 :
first you need to get a visa to travel, to the uk, then apply for uk citzen ship. that mite be harder than you think .... as your not ,been invited by any one in the uk to stay .. as for your girlfriend, she has to do the same . hire a lawer . see what he says . or contact the uk INS.
